What we raise
We breed and raise Coturnix quail through every stage, so you can buy at whatever point fits you: start your own flock, stock the fridge, or treat the dog.

Proven breeding pairs and trios for homesteaders building a flock. We'll help you pick birds matched to your goals — eggs, meat, or color.
Delicate, speckled eating eggs by the dozen or the flat. Richer than chicken eggs and a favorite for charcuterie boards, ramen, and pickling.
Whole dressed quail, raised on open ground and processed humanely to order. Lean, tender, and ready for the grill, roast, or smoker.
Single-ingredient treats made from our own birds — gently dehydrated, no fillers, no preservatives, nothing your dog can't pronounce. A clean, high-protein reward that uses the whole bird and keeps tails wagging. Made in small batches right here on the farm.
Our practices
We're not a factory. Every bird here gets room, fresh air, and a clean coop — and we'd rather tell you exactly how it's done than hide it.
Low-stress handling and on-farm processing done quickly and respectfully. Nothing about how we raise these birds is something we'd hide from you.
We keep our numbers manageable on purpose. Smaller flocks mean healthier birds, cleaner eggs, and treats we'd happily feed our own dogs.
Born, raised, and processed here in Monroe County — never trucked in. When you buy from us you know the canal, the coop, and the people behind it.
Our story
Canalside Quail Co grew out of a backyard flock here along the Erie Canal. What began as a handful of Coturnix eggs in a countertop incubator turned into something we couldn't stop tinkering with — better coops, better feed, and birds we were proud to share.
Today we raise quail through every stage of life and try to waste nothing along the way. The eggs feed neighbors, the meat feeds families, and even the trimmings become clean, single-ingredient treats for the dogs in our lives.
We're small, we're local, and we like it that way. If you want to know how your food — or your dog's treats — were raised, you've come to the right farm.
